Ok, as all of you know, the culprits have been identified. But there is one thing that right now really pisses me off.
People of America are confusing their nationality- they are switching Chechnya with Czech Republic.
Learn the fucking geography.
And if you are not sure:

Just a few things some people should know:
- Ethnic Chechen is not the same as ethnic Russian. They identify as Chechen, therefore they are. You can’t argue with what they identify themselves as.
- Stop bloody confusing ‘Czech Republic’ with ‘Chechnya’! Just because both begin with a ‘chuh’ sound…

Why is a ‘fat’ person posting a nude picture “inspirational” but a skinny person posting a nude picture slutty? If you’re confident enough to show your naked body to millions/billions/trillions of judgemental people online and not give a fuck what they think, you’re pretty damn inspirational to me.

So it just occurred to me, just how BADLY the Embassy Suites in Rosemont, IL are now price gouging for ACEN. Their “room block” rate are complete and utter bullshit. Yes, I understand that hotel room rates will fluctuate throughout the year. But I got curious, and typed in the dates for the weekened PRIOR to ACEN 2013 (May 9th-12th) and this is just how much of a ridiculous difference there is:
The posted prices for the ACEN room block:

The prices for the weekend prior (May 9th-12th):

I started staying at the Embassy Suites in 2007. Back then, not that many people stayed there, and actually preferred every other hotel. Once attendance of the Con went up, and word got out about the Embassy Suites and what the rooms have, people started booking like crazy. The hotel then decided to get greedy and start to jack up prices every year. 2007-2010 the price increases were not all that bad. 2011 was a bit noticeable, 2012 I did not go, and then this year it is ridiculous.
In 2010, an incompetent bell boy tugged my suitcase (borrowed from my father) out of my trunk and tore it open. This was a $199 brand new Chaps suitcase. They would not replace it on the spot, and I had to wait to hear anything until I got all the way back to Iowa. They then refused to replace it, unless I BROUGHT the damn thing back to them. Thankfully I was planning another trip to Chicago that June for a Miyavi concert, and was able to stop in Rosemont on the way. Still though, that was some major bullshit.
Also, there is the whole bedbug situation. Numerous reviews/reports have been posted online concerning potential beg bugs at the Embassy Suites. The most recent being March of 2013.
With that knowledge, me and three other people from my original large group at the Embassy Suites, have broken away and gotten a room at the DoubleTree across the street. A double queen is $159 per night.
Fucking suck it Embassy Suites.
